Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026. This policy applies to Spread The Scene and is intended for users in the United Kingdom.
What information we collect
- Email address when you join a city launch or premium feature waitlist
- Waitlist preferences such as the city or feature you selected, your stated interests, consent choices, and the page you signed up from
- Usage information collected in an anonymous or aggregated form (for example which pages were viewed and how filters or charts were used)
We do not ask for unnecessary personal details to use the public parts of the service.
Why we collect it
- To contact you about the city launch or premium feature you registered interest in
- To understand demand and improve Spread The Scene
- To operate, maintain, and protect the service
We do not run a general marketing newsletter. Your email is used only for the waitlist purpose you signed up for, unless you later ask us to do something different and we agree.
We use trusted third-party service providers to help us run the service. They process information only on our instructions and for the purposes described in this policy.
Legal basis for processing
- Consent — for waitlist sign-ups, when you provide your email and agree to be contacted about that launch or feature
- Legitimate interests — for anonymous or aggregated usage information, where this helps us understand how the service is used and improve it, balanced against your rights
You may withdraw consent for waitlist contact at any time by asking us to remove your email. That does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
How long we keep information
- Waitlist data — until you ask us to delete it, or until the relevant launch or feature notification has been sent and the waitlist purpose no longer applies (typically up to 24 months after your last interaction with that waitlist, unless a shorter period is appropriate)
- Consent records — for as long as we hold your waitlist entry, plus a reasonable period afterwards to demonstrate compliance
- Anonymous usage information — for up to 26 months in aggregated form, or sooner if it is no longer needed
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your waitlist entry
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your information
We will respond to valid requests within one month, or explain if more time is needed.
